Q&A with Principals Helen Mui and Brian Dowd in Healthcare Design Magazine

Helen Mui & Brian Dowd participated in a Q&A in Healthcare Design’s annual Healthcare Design Showcase. The two Principals discussed collaboration in complex projects, data gathering and early programming analysis, maximizing the client’s return on capital investment expectations, and understanding evolving models of healthcare delivery to provide real-time and future flexibility in design.

B+MD’s recently-opened Belle Meade Ambulatory Surgery Center, a new outpatient surgery center for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, was also included in the showcase. To meet growing demand in the region, the project involved the adaptive reuse of a former supermarket in Belle Meade, TN into a 50,000 SF “Big Box” facility with operating suite, procedure rooms, clinics, radiology, and an infusion center.
