Amherst Elementary School

DiNisco is designing a new school that will consolidate two nearly identical elementary schools and alleviate overcrowding and space inefficiencies while enabling 21st century learning programs. The new building will be constructed adjacent to one of the existing schools it will replace. Extensive on-site wetlands, traffic mitigation, and Amherst’s triple net zero bylaws are important considerations that have influenced the project, as well as natural daylighting. The building will be a state-of-the-art flexible environment when completed.
