In 1890, Medford honored the sixty men from the community who served in the Revolutionary War with a plaque featuring an artful engraving and set in a large stone.

Underneath the image, their names are listed between inscriptions that read:

WHO ASSEMBLED IN MEDFORD AT THE CALL OF PAUL REVERE
AND ENGAGED IN THE BATTLE OF APRIL 19, 1775

ERECTED BY THE CITY OF MEDFORD
ON THE ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
TO COMMEMORATE THEIR VALIANT SERVICE
IN THE CAUSE OF LIBERTY
