Elm Street Cemetery

William Crosby gifted the Southwest Parish of Amherst, which later became Milford, a one-acre piece of land for a cemetery in 1788. In 1915, the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented the town with granite gates and a plaque for the cemetery in honor of the soldiers from town who fought in that war. There are 40 Revolutionary soldiers buried here, including William's brother, Captain Josiah Crosby.

The inscription on the plaque reads:
