A granite stone with bronze plaque indicates the spot where at least two British soldiers are believed to have been buried near Elm Brook Hill (formerly referred to as the “Bloody Angle”). Unfortunately, many others fell casualty at this curve in the road where Patriots fired upon the retreating British soldiers from both sides of the road. Five of the casualties were removed to Lincoln Cemetery, where they are honored with a headstone. An estimated three others were buried on site, and memorialized through a marker placed by the National Park Service as part of the 2000 Battle Road Trail project in Minute Man National Historical Park.
