A sizeable bronze plaque, Groton's Revolutionary War Tablet is affixed to a large rectangular slab of granite sited on the southeastern edge of Sawyer Common. It, along with a matching Civil War tablet affixed to the opposite side, recognizes those from Groton who served in each war. The tablets were dedicated on Memorial Day (May 30th) 1929.
An inscription at the top of the plaque reads:
1776 REVOLUTIONARY WAR 1781
Beneath it are eight columns of names listed alphabetically totaling 319 men from Groton who served in the American Revolution.
