In 1890, Medford honored the sixty men from town who served in the Revolutionary War with a bronze plaque set in a large stone featuring an artful scene in bas-relief.
Underneath the image, the men's names are listed between inscriptions that read:
ROSTER OF THE FIRST COMPANY OF MINUTE MEN
WHO ASSEMBLED IN MEDFORD AT THE CALL OF PAUL REVERE
AND ENGAGED IN THE BATTLE OF APRIL 19, 1775
ERECTED BY THE CITY OF MEDFORD
ON THE ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
TO COMMEMORATE THEIR VALIANT SERVICE
IN THE CAUSE OF LIBERTY
