A granite monument set within the stone wall at Meriam’s Corner marks the starting point of the running battle on April 19, 1775. Originally sited on land owned by Thomas and Rose Burke, a legal agreement cedes ownership and maintenance of the monument to the Town of Concord.
Its inscription reads:
