Muster Field Monument

1885 Concord, MA

Near 111 Liberty Street

Concord, MA

The Muster Field Monument marks the site where militia and minute men hurriedly gathered their gear and prepared to muster on April 19, 1775. With its subtle placement in the stone fence running along Liberty Street in Concord, this unassuming monument is easy to overlook. It was donated to the Town in 1885 by local citizens George and Mary Keyes.

Its inscription reads:

ON THIS FIELD
THE MINUTE MEN AND MILITIA
FORMED BEFORE MARCHING
DOWN TO THE
FIGHT AT THE BRIDGE
