Located in front of the Community Church of Pepperell, a truncated granite obelisk commemorates the town’s citizens who served in the country’s wars from the American Revolution through the Korean Conflict. Large bronze tablets are affixed to the four sides listing the names of those who served in each military engagement.
The memorial was dedicated on August 23, 1930 during the town’s celebrations marking the Tercentenary of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Addresses were made by the Honorable Edith Nourse Rogers, the first woman elected to the United States Congress from Massachusetts, and Edward Everett Saltonstall, Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
