Located in West Acton\u2019s Edwards Square, the Mead Stone memorializes two notable town landmarks. The first is an old road reportedly taken by many of Acton<\/a>\u2019s militia men on April 19, 1775, when they confronted the British in the first battles of the American Revolution. The second is the nearby home site of Captain Isaac Davis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In raised lettering, the stone\u2019s plaque reads:<\/p>\n
