Surveyor
Position for a licensed surveyor who has demonstrated capability to work with clients and design engineers to provide the surveying services required to take large projects from concept to completion.
The person in this position will:
- Consult with the manager of the Surveying Department to develop project budgets and timelines;
- Be responsible for completing field topographic surveys, surveys of wetlands, construction verification surveys, construction stakeout, and boundary surveys;
- Be responsible for review of municipal ordinances and preparation of subdivision plans;
- Be responsible for review of deeds for the preparation of boundary surveys and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys;
- Be familiar with land title issues such as easements and rights-of-way;
- Be responsible for the preparation of title plans and legal descriptions for property deeds, deeds of easements, and deeds of rights-of-way;
- Be responsible for preparing background topographic plans, including precisely illustrating the locations of land features, contours, wetlands and flood plain boundaries, property boundaries, easements and rights-of-way, and above and underground utilities;
- Prepare rights-of-way plans in accordance with PENNDOT standards for rights-of-way.
Candidates should have completed a BS or Associates Degree in Surveying Engineering and be a Professional Licensed Surveyor registered in Pennsylvania (or be able to obtain registration in Pennsylvania via reciprocity within 6 months of hire). Candidates should have a minimum of 8‑years’ experience with subdivision and land development design and be familiar with GPS and robotic total station survey equipment, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Familiarity with aerial drone surveying techniques is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.
Senior Environmental Engineer (Water)
Lead position for a seasoned and licensed civil engineer who has demonstrated expertise in the design and permitting of water distribution systems.
The person in this position will:
- Consult with clients and senior management to guide a project from its concept phase through design approvals and ultimately construction;
- Be responsible for developing and adhering to project schedules and budgets;
- Work in a team environment with staff engineers and other support personnel while actively engaging in design of water distribution, transmission, and storage systems;
- Be experienced with water system modeling;
- Be experienced with the design, testing, and permitting of water source, pumping, and storage systems;
- Be responsible for managing multiple water system design projects;
- Represent the firm in meetings with the client, municipal regulatory bodies, and other permitting agencies – attendance at night meetings is required;
- Develop relationships with the managers of local water system purveyors and become familiar with the design, permitting, and fee structure requirements of each as necessary to support design projects;
- Develop Master Plans for water distribution systems and assist in development of Tapping Fee ordinances and rates and water usage rate schedules;
- Prepare Construction Documents and manage projects through construction;
- Be ready for the challenge of working on large projects.
Candidates should have completed a BS or MS in Civil Engineering and be a Professional Engineer registered in Pennsylvania (or be able to obtain registration in Pennsylvania via reciprocity within 6 months of hire). Candidates should have a minimum of 8‑years’ experience with the design and permitting of water distribution, source, and storage systems as well as water booster stations and be familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Familiarity with sanitary sewerage system design and permitting is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.
While this leadership position may occasionally require in-person meetings with clients and public boards, working remotely and virtually with some flexibility in hours is a feasible alternative to full-time in-office participation.
Senior Environmental Engineer (Sanitary Sewer)
Lead position for a seasoned and licensed civil engineer who has demonstrated expertise in the design and permitting of sanitary sewerage systems.
The person in this position will:
- Consult with clients and senior management to guide a project from its concept phase through design approvals and ultimately construction;
- Be responsible for developing and adhering to project schedules and budgets;
- Work in a team environment with staff engineers and other support personnel while actively engaging in design of sanitary sewerage collection and conveyance systems and treatment systems;
- Be experienced with Inflow/Infiltration studies and management and remediation methods such as joint repair and sealing, trenchless restoration technologies, and manhole lining systems;
- Be experienced with establishing programs for Inflow/Infiltration removal with respect to sewer laterals on private properties, including private sewer lateral inspection/certification programs for Certificates of Occupancy for changes of property ownership;
- Have a working knowledge of sanitary sewage treatment systems;
- Be experienced in the establishing of Industrial Waste/Excess Strength monitoring programs;
- Be responsible for managing multiple environmental design projects;
- Represent the firm in meetings with the client, municipal regulatory bodies, and other permitting agencies – attendance at night meetings is required;
- Develop relationships with the managers of local sewerage system purveyors and become familiar with the design, permitting, and fee structure requirements of each as necessary to support design projects;
- Develop Act 537 Plans, complete Chapter 94 Reports, assist in development of Tapping Fee ordinances and rates and sewer usage rate schedules, and complete Planning Modules;
- Prepare Construction Documents and manage projects through construction;
- Be ready for the challenge of working on large projects.
