LeMessurier was tasked to perform water infiltration testing on specific curtainwall assemblies at the Phelps Science Center at Phillips Exeter Academy, on areas that have shown sign of moisture infiltration during wind-driven rain events. The testing utilized guidance and with equipment calibrated to AAMA 101 (Specification For Windows, Doors, And Skylights) and ASTM E1105 (Standard Test Method for Field Determination of Water Penetration of Installed Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors) standards. A spray nozzle and spray rack were utilized to test the curtainwall enclosure, while exterior and interior observations were recorded. Using as-built records, on-site observations, and mapping of leaking, LeMessurier was able to provide tiered recommendations for repair of the curtainwall assembly.
