The website creates a virtual “home” for Freedom’s Way 45 member towns.
Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area partnered with D&CO to develop the strategy and design for a refreshed brand, new website, wayfinding kiosks, and a microsite in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
The goals of the project included raising awareness about the heritage area, clarifying the intent of the organization’s name, refreshing the brand and messaging, and designing an intuitive and interactive guide and online archive.
Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area encompasses 45 diverse communities throughout North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Binding together this diverse yet vibrant geographic area was no small feat, given that Freedom’s Way has no public headquarters. Inspired by the idea of an online history museum, the organization partnered with D&CO to develop the strategy and design for a refreshed brand and new website. Our website for Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area, which includes an interactive map, custom itineraries, and history told through engaging stories and featured events, is our largest, most robust website to date. Freedom’s Way later hired us to the design a Monuments, Memorials, and Markers microsite and wayfinding kiosks.
