Environmental Practice: Curt has practiced environmental law for more than 20 years in the private sector, providing guidance, creative solutions and key litigation/mediation outcomes to clients.  His practice areas include environmental compliance, hazardous waste and solid waste remediation, enforcement defense against regulator claims, contribution and cost recovery (including as group common counsel), infrastructure development (wireless, solar, landfill-to-gas), Brownfields redevelopment, and wetlands and zoning permitting/opposition.  In addition to private clients, he represents municipalities and State agencies as special outside counsel in environmental and land use matters.

Design Representation Practice: Curt works closely with architects, engineers, landscape architects, and interior designers in all aspects of their practice, including negotiating contracts, entity formation and changes, regulatory compliance, financing, and resolving disputed claims.

Curt joined NW&H in 2021.

Prior Professional Experience

Environmental attorney at the Boston area law firms: Anderson & Kreiger, LLP and Giarrusso Norton Cooley & McGlone, PC. Curt provided strategic advice, environmental compliance guidance, and dispute resolution solutions to private and public clients, as well as negotiated complex agreements. His practice included litigation, negotiation, and enforcement defense under CERCLA, RCRA, M.G.L. c. 21E, Public Water Supply, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act, as well as wetlands/zoning permitting, renewable energy projects, and real estate due diligence.

Corporate Counsel at Sprint/Nextel Communications. As Assistant Regional Corporate Counsel, Curt managed legal affairs for the New England regional office of a national wireless carrier. His work included supervising commercial real estate due diligence and permitting for site development, negotiating real estate and commercial contracts, addressing employment issues, and managing outside counsel and contractors. He also coordinated regulatory strategy and drafted legislation, including appearing before legislative committees and Town Meetings.
