1:1 Coherence Session

What is out of rhythm is not broken, it is simply waiting to be met with attention. This session is a life-informed, personalized, and integrative process shaped by deep listening and attunement to what is present.

Sessions are available in-person at my Waitsfield Village studio or online via Zoom.

SOUND IS THE CORNERSTONE

Sound anchors the session as the primary organizing force, offering the body coherent frequencies it can use to regulate, reorganize, and restore balance.

Sound is not just something we hear — it is something we are. Every cell in the body communicates through frequency and electrical signaling. Sound moves through the body as vibration, through the nervous system as rhythm,and through the biofield as information.

From the fulcrum of sound, additional modalities are integrated or inform what is emerging. No two sessions are the same, each unfolding as a collaborative and responsive process.

Why start with sound? EVERYTHING is frequency.

Everything in the Universe is made up of vibration. A relaxed human body, including brainwaves, vibrates at the fundamental frequency of the Earth – 7.83 cycles per second (Hertz), known as the Schumann Resonance (Hertz). This is your natural state – and that which is in vibrational alignment with your wellness, your satisfaction, and your dreams. However as humans we have a tendency to match our vibration to what is being observed—not what we naturally align with.

When modern life, stress, trauma, illness, or emotional distress occur, we tend to stray from coherence – our natural resonant frequency. This may manifest as:

  • dysregulated nervous system responses
  • persistent emotional holding
  • physical pain
  • fatigue
  • mental anguish or anxiety
  • poor sleep
  • lack of self-esteem or self-confidence
  • or a general sense of unease and disconnection
SOUND AS MEDICINE

Sound is a medicine that reaches us where hands and pharmaceuticals cannot.

Our bodies are genetically pre-programmed to be self-healing instruments: and in a state of deep relaxation, healing can be profound. Along with sleep, sound is one of the easiest ways to evoke the relaxation response and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. The work is not to force alignment, but to create the conditions in which it naturally returns.

HOW THE BODY RESPONDS TO SOUND

It works through coherence and entrainment: sound is audible, mechanical vibration that affects matter.

When coherent frequencies are introduced during a therapeutic session:

  • They travel through tissues, fluids, bones, organs, and the electromagnetic field gently moving the body toward entrainment (the synchronization of independent, oscillating systems to a common rhythm).
  • They influence brainwave patterns through auditory and vibrational input, often inducing brainwaves in theta and alpha states (associated with relaxation, meditation, and integration).
  • They interact with the nervous system, particularly the vagus nerve. As the nervous system relaxes, it begins to entrain to those rhythms and the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for the “rest and digest” state) comes online.
  • They repair disturbances in the body’s electromagnetic field (often called the biofield). The body’s electrical and energetic systems can reorganize toward greater coherence.
BENEFITS OF SOUND

In simple terms: the body remembers how to regulate itself when given the right conditions.

During a Coherence Session you are not being “healed” or “fixed” — rather, your system is being offered coherent, harmonic information that it can use to return toward equilibrium. The benefits of sound include the reduction of stress and anxiety, the activation of relaxing and meditative brain waves, decreased blood pressure, improved mood, pain relief, restorative sleep, and more.

IN-PERSON OR ONLINE SESSIONS

What's the difference between an in-person and online session?

The Coherence Session is available in-person in my Waitsfield, Vermont studio or online. Each offers the same attention, care, and presence. The main difference is that the use of tuning forks is more prominent in online sessions than the gong. The reasons for this are: first, tuning forks are especially good for distance work. They are unique in that they can be applied across all layers of the human experience: frequency can be engaged at the level of the body, the surrounding acoustic field, and the broader biofield in which the body is embedded. Secondly, the unworldly spectrum of sound from the gong gets lost amid digital translation. To be in the physical presence of a well-played gong cannot be duplicated.

However, online sessions allow for the experience to unfold in the comfort of your own space (and pajamas). And after the session is complete, you are already in a restful environment from which to relax and integrate the work.
